Shelf Life and Storage Information for Our Products and Ingredients
Finished Products - generally don't need to be refrigerated as they are preserved, but you can refrigerate them to extend their shelf life. The shelf life for most products is 9-12 months. Vitamin C Serum(s) and VitaResurface products should continually be refrigerated to extend their shelf life. Sample Sizes - do have a shorter shelf life (generally 3-6 months), and items in jars can dry up quicker than this if the lid is not tightened well enough (Vitamin C Serums - use within 90 days).
Please Keep Your Products Out of Humidity, Heat, Direct Light and in a Dark Cabinet When Possible
Exfoliating Acid - products have a shelf life of 9-12 months. The only things we don't suggest refrigerating are the Mandelic Acid Serums or Salicylic Acid Serums, as they can crystallize in the refrigerator. If this happens, you can set the product into a hot water bath to see if the crystals will dissolve.
Additional Items That Require Refrigeration and/or Kept in the Dark
Hydrosols and Distillates - remove 1 ounce of hydrosol and add it to a separate, sterilized spray bottle and spritzer. Keep the larger bottle in the refrigerator. Carrier and Exotic Oils - generally refrigerate all carrier oils, although some very rich oils will solidify. This is fine. All you have to do is take the oil out, warm it up at room temperature, and it should liquefy. If not, set the bottle in a hot water bath and occasionally shake the bottle, which will hopefully turn into a liquid. Some oils, like coconut cream and jojoba oil, have a super long shelf life.
Refrigeration of The Following Ingredients is Not Necessary, But it Won't hurt
Essential Oils - essential oils are best stored in a cool, dark place. Co2 Extracts - these should continually be refrigerated. Butters - we suggest refrigerating our "skincare" butters. You can remove what you need and keep the rest in the fridge. Clays - keep in a dry, dark place. Shelf life is at least 2 years. Herbs All herbs <i>(whole or ground)</i> should be kept in a dark, cool, and dry location. Herbal (liquid) Extracts are created using grain alcohol. The alcohol pulls the constituents (properties) from each herb, root, trunk, leaf, and flower. They have a shelf life of 3-5 years. They can be stored in the refrigerator or a dark, dry place. Other Raw Ingredients - such as Sodium PCA, Honeyquat, Oat Beta Glucan, etc., will all have different shelf lives.
My son has some back acne and tends toward blackheads and redness on his face in spots. This tonic spray has quite a dramatic effect on both his back and face. It is definitely clearing and brightening. I am so thankful for the pure simple natural ingredients and no unnecessary chemicals for our immune systems to have to fight off.

Blemish Control Tonic
I am 50 years old, with hormonal acne from menopause. I found Garden of Wisdom via a fungal acne site and wrote to Jen for guidance on products to use. The Blemish Tonic was something she recommended!
I generally HATE toners, because it feels like they sit on my skin and just add a layer of garbage and irritation. This tonic, however, sinks into my skin and actually helps to heal it - just like it says! I absolutely love it and feel it has helped heal the hormonal acne I've been experiencing without drying out my changing skin.
I notice when I skip this step - it is truly a product I don't want to be without!

This wonderful (and gentle) little tonic gave my skin the extra moisture boost that it needed without the sting and drying-effect other toners had. I really liked the spray container that it came in as well, because no product went to waste on my cotton balls and I was able to save those for other uses. The redness in my skin also died down a little bit, and I'm not sure if it was because of the niacinamide or something else, but whatever it was I want more! And speaking of niacinamide... this miracle ingredient helps repair the skin moisture barrier by stimulating the production of ceramides, which will help anyone with dehydrated skin.
If you have similar skin issues (or not!), I strongly recommend you add a sample of the Blemish Control Tonic with your next purchase!

I have really dehydrated, acne-prone skin with mild redness and I've been having trouble with other toners. Thayers Unscented used to work really well for me, but my skin starts to burn, dry out an peel immediately after. I decided to order some of the great oils I've been hearing about from GoW to help my situation, so I placed my first order from GoW almost two weeks ago, and Jen was kind enough to include a Blemish Control Tonic sample. I cannot seem to use this directly on my face but I wash with water, then spray when wet a few sprays, let soak in for anti-aging, anti-bacterial benefits, gently press into skin, and wait a minute, then rinse, proceed with routine.

I love this Lavender Recovery Gel so much. Whenever my skin is irritated or healing from something like a popped pimple, I always reach for this recovery gel and it noticeably speeds up the healing process. If my skin is really irritated, I'll apply a layer before bed and cover it with a bandage overnight, and the difference by morning is amazing! I keep the 1 oz pump at home and the 0.25 oz size in my travel toiletry bag, so I'm never without it when I need it. This is a 10/10 product, please never stop making it!
