Garden of Wisdom Neurophroline™ Serum combats the major signs of aging of the skin, and stress. Stress and environmental aggressions including pollution and UV radiation cause the release of the stress hormone cortisol, an inflammatory hormone that is released within the epidermis of skin.

Neurophroline™ is an extract derived from wild indigo, Tephrosia purpurea. This patented extract helps break down cortisol production by skin cells, activates the release of a natural calming neuropeptide acting on mood, and visibly improves skin tone within a very short period of time.

Stress, whether due to physical, hormonal, or environmental causes, plays a major part in the health of our skin. At times of stress, cortisol is released, and sugar levels in the blood increase. Within the skin, this effect of excess glucose encourages glycation, which results in the destruction of collagen and in the hardening of the collagen matrix, leading to the increased formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Dark circles around the eyes may also be associated with high-stress areas where skin is at its thinnest, and hence, these can become prominent when skin is stressed.

Increased cortisol levels in the skin lead to increased adrenaline levels, which is responsible for the flight or fight mechanism. Adrenaline diverts blood from skin into our muscles. Another effect of stress on the skin is dry skin.
