Garden of Wisdom'sCrystal Body Polish and Exfoliator wash offers a unique and safer alternative to traditional body scrubs, providing gentle exfoliation and pleasant scents. Garden of Wisdom has taken the safety aspect of body exfoliators seriously and eliminated oils from the "typical" body wash to prevent slipping and falling in the shower. It's important to consider all aspects of product safety, including potential hazards that may not be immediately obvious. So, try this excellent exfoliating wash. Use it and be safe!
Method of Application You would apply this as you would any body gel cleanser. Allowing this to sit for a few minutes will really exfoliate the body. As always, enjoy!
Shelf Life and Storage Information for Our Products and Ingredients
Finished Products - generally don't need to be refrigerated as they are preserved, but you can refrigerate them to extend their shelf life. The shelf life for most products is 9-12 months. Vitamin C Serum(s) and VitaResurface products should continually be refrigerated to extend their shelf life. Sample Sizes - do have a shorter shelf life (generally 3-6 months), and items in jars can dry up quicker than this if the lid is not tightened well enough (Vitamin C Serums - use within 90 days).
Please Keep Your Products Out of Humidity, Heat, Direct Light and in a Dark Cabinet When Possible
Exfoliating Acid - products have a shelf life of 9-12 months. The only things we don't suggest refrigerating are the Mandelic Acid Serums or Salicylic Acid Serums, as they can crystallize in the refrigerator. If this happens, you can set the product into a hot water bath to see if the crystals will dissolve.
Additional Items That Require Refrigeration and/or Kept in the Dark
Hydrosols and Distillates - remove 1 ounce of hydrosol and add it to a separate, sterilized spray bottle and spritzer. Keep the larger bottle in the refrigerator. Carrier and Exotic Oils - generally refrigerate all carrier oils, although some very rich oils will solidify. This is fine. All you have to do is take the oil out, warm it up at room temperature, and it should liquefy. If not, set the bottle in a hot water bath and occasionally shake the bottle, which will hopefully turn into a liquid. Some oils, like coconut cream and jojoba oil, have a super long shelf life.
Refrigeration of The Following Ingredients is Not Necessary, But it Won't hurt
Essential Oils - essential oils are best stored in a cool, dark place. Co2 Extracts - these should continually be refrigerated. Butters - we suggest refrigerating our "skincare" butters. You can remove what you need and keep the rest in the fridge. Clays - keep in a dry, dark place. Shelf life is at least 2 years. Herbs All herbs <i>(whole or ground)</i> should be kept in a dark, cool, and dry location. Herbal (liquid) Extracts are created using grain alcohol. The alcohol pulls the constituents (properties) from each herb, root, trunk, leaf, and flower. They have a shelf life of 3-5 years. They can be stored in the refrigerator or a dark, dry place. Other Raw Ingredients - such as Sodium PCA, Honeyquat, Oat Beta Glucan, etc., will all have different shelf lives.
Spring Water Glycerin Soap soothing, gentle for sensitive skin
Sugar(Organic) natural, gentle exfoliant
Glycerin humectant, protects skin, draws moisture from the air
Lactic Acid gentle, effective exfoliant (in low percentage)
Seamollient marine-derived from Irish Moss (chrondus crispus), lends an improved feel to virtually any finished product, offers sustained skin moisturization
Honey Powder humectant, helps to hold hydration in the skin, gentle exfoliant
Corn Starch natural thickener
Optiphen(Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol) preservative that does not contain parabens or lend itself to releasing formaldehyde
Cosmocil CQ (Polyaminopropyl Biguanide) very gentle preservative that does not contain parabens or lend itself to releasing formaldehyde
Flavors: Almond and Plum (BW-1): Essences of Almond and Plum
Chocolate Mint (BW-2): Chocolate Absolute and Mint
Essential Oil
Lavender, Rosemary and Ylang-Ylang (BW-3): Lavender Essential Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil, and Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil
Lemongrass Grapefruit (BW-5):

My mom has Alzheimers and wants to do her own showering. I used to worry that she wasn't soaping up enough. But with the crystal body wash, I can rub it on her back, arms, and legs while she's getting ready for the shower and know she's getting clean. It's a big relief and a real solution to a real problem. We also use the almond plum scent, which is lovely. I'm excited to try a few others.

Save the drains!!!
Yay!!!! I do so love this body wash! I have dry skin that goes dull quickly so an exfoliating scrub has always been somewhere in my routine. My biggest gripe with scrubs is this: they are most all oil based and oil SHOULD NOT go down drains. We live on a septic system and as I don't want to pay lots of money to have it fixed, I do try to baby my drains and pipes. Because this is a chemical (lactic acid) and not a mechanical (like sugar-oil scrubs) exfoliation this scrub performs better, irritates my sensitive, dry skin less, and makes me feel much happier about not putting oil down the drain. Thank you Garden of Wisdom for this wonderful body wash! I am thoroughly in love with it. I have currently have the almond and plum essence but look forward to trying others. There is a lactic acid smell underneath the essence smell. I don't find it bad.. I enjoy knowing the lactic acid is in there.
Oh, and you should follow the instructions and put it on while your skin is dry and the shower is warming up. It a wonderful way to multitask.
The skin under my eyes is very sensitive and there are not too many products I can tolerate, but this has never bothered me at all. I keep it in the fridge and it's soothing and moisturizing, and does help somewhat with puffiness.

Effective as a spot treatment. I may have overused it when I first got it (all over my face, twice a day), which might have been a bit irritating. But now I use it as a spot treatment if I feel any spots that might be headed toward a bit or blemish. And in the morning, those spots definitely feel dryer and less angry.

This feels really great on my hair. I love that it's silicone free and also fungal acne safe! (Very hard to find with conditioners!) Note that it is a leave-in. I use it after a hair wash before gels, and I also use it throughout the week on my ends for a moisture refresh. My one downside is that I don't like the smell when I put it on dry hair... I wish it had a dab of something herbal, even though I do like that it isn't scented with essential oils. But other than that I love it and plan to keep using it!

Feels great on the skin. I use it after cleansing but before serums, and it feels much more useful than a mineral water spray. I also like that it can be used throughout the day for a little boost. I love this schampoo!! I was a little skeptical if an all natural shampoo would work, especially since I have fine, straight hair that tends to get greasy after only a couple of days with regular high quality shampoos, but this really works. I can go for 3 full days without washing it and I immediately noticed how powder soft my hair felt after the first wash. I think it even washes out the hard water. I will definitely be buying this again!
